Why should I book with Bow Field Hire?
This shoud be your number one question. The answer is simple - we know what we're doing.
• We have completed 1000's of jobs and so have a wealth of experience behind us.
• We have an exclusive selection of vehicles which are NOT available elsewhere.
• We have the largest privately owned collection of cars in the area.
• We are dedicated, committed and unrivalled. We are insured. We are legitimate.
• 99.9% of the time, there is someone at the end of the phone line. You can speak with a real person who has years of knowledge and expertise, someone who can advise and guide you and you can call as often as you like.
• Our full address and landline telephone number is displayed on this website and all paperwork. Many other car companies do not display these details, only supplying a mobile or freephone number and/or P.O. box number.
• We have been here for 19 years, that should tell you something.
Can we view the car before we book it?

Hiring a car seems non-essential and just an added expense. Am I right?
Is it a non-essential? Absolutely not. The bride should not "turn-up" to her own wedding, she should "ARRIVE." Not having proper chauffeur driven transport for the bridal party, and later, the bride and groom, is no different to not having a wedding cake or a bouquet. Unheard of.
Is it an added expense? Absolutely not. It is the most expensive piece of kit you will have at your wedding and for the least amount of money. The ratio of the vehicle purchase price, running costs, maintenance, fuel, insurance, valeting and chauffeur, against the hourly rate is very, very low. By comparison, the ratio of the set-up costs and hourly rate of say, a photographer, is very high. The time spent on preparing the vehicle for you, getting to you, being with you for around 3 hours, getting back to base and cleaning up again is around 6-8 hours, longer if the wedding is some distance away. Remember, your chauffeur has to be paid too. At the lower end of the scale, all this may only cost you £180, at the other end, around £475
You can work out the sums for yourself.
Do you own all of the vehicles shown on this website?
Yes we do, with the exception of the Mercedes Benz. We are not an Agency.
Will you provide transport for a Civil Partnership?
Yes, of course we will.
How long do I get the car for?
For as long as you wish. You only pay for the time you require. This means you are not paying for time you do not need. The period of hire can be as long as you need. You decide the number of hours.
How are the hire charges calculated?
Each vehicle has its minimum hire charge, its starting rate which covers you for up to 3 hours hire base to base. Thereafter the hire period goes up in 1/2 hour increments. The rates applied will differ between vehicles.
How far do you travel?
If you are prepared to pay the additional costs, we go anywhere. If you are way up the country, you will be required to cover all chauffeur expenses.
"X Wedding Cars" are prepared to travel 50miles to get to me at NO EXTRA CHARGE. Why won't you?
• Because we are legitimate and pay Taxes.
• Because we have proper Wedding Car Insurance.
• Because the chauffeur has to be paid an additional sum for the extra time.
• Because the average fuel consumption of our vehicle's is 9.56MPG Our lowest vehicle is 6-8MPG
How much flexibility is there if I hire one of your vehicles or is it always just the 'Standard Hire'?
We can be as flexible as you wish. Timings, locations, stops, photograph's, waiting, mileage, packed lunch if you like. Absolutely anything. You call the shots, we are working for you. We will quote you according to the number of hours hire you need.
Can the bridal car take the bridesmaids first, then come back for me?
Yes. You can do whatever you wish within the Hire Period you have chosen.
The house is on an unmade road/drive, will the car come to the house?
This will be entirely at the discretion of the chauffeur. If he is unhappy with the conditions of the road/drive, (and this will be worse if it is wet or raining,) and suspects this may cause damage to the vehicle or that the vehicle may become grounded, he will not take the risk. You should inform us at the time of booking if your road or driveway is unmade.
We are having a Blessing after the Civil Ceremony, is this an extra charge?
No. But we do request that you let us know in advance. You just need to ensure that you have opted for the apropriate number of hours hire to cover the additional ceremony.
Do you provide champagne?
No, we are not licensed to provide alcohol. You are welcome to provide your own alcohol but you will not be able to uncork or drink it in the vehicle whilst the vehicle is travelling.
Can we drink in the car?
Not if the car is travelling. Sorry, we can't afford to have spillages on the upholstery. You may drink a toast for photograph's once the vehicle is stationary.
Do you provide flowers in the car?
Yes, wherever possible. It is not possible in some vehicles i.e. convertibles.
Can we provide our own flowers in the car?
Yes, if you wish, but you will need to send your florist to us to check the space first.
Will the car have ribbons on?
Yes. We provide traditional white ribbons or ivory if you prefer. You are welcome to supply your own ribbons if you wish.
Can our guests throw confetti into the car?
No. Damp confetti can cause damage to the interior of the vehicle as the colour runs and stains. Out of respect for the hundreds of hours spent each year ensuring your car is fully valeted inside and out, we politely request that your guests DO NOT deliberately throw confetti near or inside the vehicle, wet or dry. Extra time spent on the removal of excessive confetti inside the vehicle may result in the Hirer being charged. Any damage resulting from confetti is the responsibility of the Hirer.
Can we exceed the stated number of passengers?
No. This would invalidate our insurance.
Do you provide child seats?
No. You are welcome to provide your own child seats for vehicles which have seat belts, but you will be responsible for fitting the seat in the car. If the chauffeur feels that your particular seat will cause damage to the upholstery or indentations to the leather, he will be at liberty to refuse. Remember, many of our vehicles do not have seats belts.
Will you carry young children?
Yes, but they must behave and be accompanied by an adult for all journeys. Bear in mind if the car you want to hire has seatbelts. If not, they will not be restrained. Their parents may prefer for them to travel in their own car.
Can we go to the park for more photo's?
Yes.
Can we put luggage/belongings in the boot of the car?
Yes, but you are totally responsible for remembering to remove them at
the end of hire. If you forget, someone will need to collect them from
us. Money or items of value must be kept with you. We are unable to return left items to you, you will need to arrange collection.
I want to arrive late at the church, will you let me do this?
If you are late starting,
you may cause yourself to be late finishing. We cannot always accomodate extra time that has not been booked in advance. Being late may result in the vicar/registar cancelling your wedding.
I may want to change some of the details of hire at a later date, maybe add something or change a location. Can I do this?
We are not always able to accommodate changes but will always do our
best. But do be aware that we have quoted you based on the
information you have supplied and this creates the contract agreed by
both parties. Any alterations are likely to incur additional
costs. Additional time will be charged in half hour units or
part thereof per vehicle. Any changes must be advised 6 weeks
prior to the date of hire and before the balance payment is due.
Do I need to pay a deposit to reserve a vehicle?
Yes. The deposit required is £100.00 per vehicle which can be paid by credit or debit card. Vehicles are only reserved upon payment of the appropriate fee.
When is the balance payment due?
Six weeks
before the date of hire. This payment will automatically be taken from your card details held on file unless you have made alternative arrangements in advance to pay by cheque or cash. . When your booking is confirmed, you will be informed of your balance payment amount and the due date. Please make a note in your diary. If paying by cheque, please send early as cleared funds are expected by the due date. If we have not received cleared funds by 35 days before the date of hire, an administration charge of £15.00 will be added to your account. We are sorry to have to introduce this charge, but increasingly, clients are failing to pay on time, thus resulting in additional time being spent on chasing payments.
Will I lose my deposit if I cancel my booking?
Yes. All deposits are non-refundable. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions displayed on this website..
Do you offer discounts?
We periodically run promotions, offers and discounts. Check our Special Offers page for current promotions. We also run special offers at all our Open Days.
If I book a car at a special
offer price, will I get the same service as someone paying the full price?
Absolutely. The service we provide, which is second to none and the best you will find, is regardless of the amount you pay or the vehicle you hire.
Do you price match?
No we do not. We offer the best, unrivalled service you will
find. We offer no gimmicks, just good old fashioned top
rate service. We don't need to price match, our vehicles and service
are worth more than we charge.
If you have been quoted an 'attractive' price elsewhere, there is usually a reason. As with anything in life, you get what you pay for. Your wedding day is not a day for compromise. Saving a few pounds on a vehicle may cost you dearly. BEWARE!!
I've found the same car cheaper elswhere.
You have not. Please don't make the mistake of thinking this.
Many of our vehicle's are one off's. The condition and rarity of our vehicles along with the service we provide cannot be compared and is, by comparison, underpriced. So please, don't compare us with others. Thank you
My local wedding car company is cheaper than you. Why?
You have answered your own question. Because they are local to you. If your wedding locations are outside of our local operating area, you will need to ensure you have the correct number of hour hire.
We haggle on everything, do you mind if we do this with you?
Not at all. But it won't work. We don't give an inflated price to begin with. We will offer you our best price at the time of your enquiry and that will be our final price.
I was quoted a Special Offer Price but I didn't book. The offer has ended, can I still have the Special Offer Price?
No. This would make a mockery of Special Offer prices and would be unfair to those who made the effort to book on time to secure the offer. Be advised that we do not inflate our prices to then lower them to the real price and call it a Special Offer. Our discounts and offers are genuine and generous. If you want the price you are offered - book it, don't wait.
What happens if I, or a member of my party damages your vehicle?
The Hirer will bear the cost of any damage to the exterior and/or the interior of any vehicle hired, howsoever caused, whether the damage be done by the Hirer or any member of their party or guests. The Hirer will also bear the cost of any consequential loss of business. It is advisable to ensure you have adequate insurance to cover accidental damage.
I don't agree with all of the Terms & Conditions, what should I do?
Terms and Conditions are in place to protect both parties. You should ensure that you have read, understand and agree to be bound by them before making your booking. Payment of the required deposit signifies your acceptance of our Terms & Conditions which are clearly displayed on this website.
What happens if the car breaks down?
This is a question with many different scenarios and therefore a simple
answer is not possible. We will try to answer this in the
simplest terms as follows:
1.
If the car should break down in the weeks/days leading up to the
wedding, we will do all that we can to put it right in time for the
day. If we cannot, you will be notified and either offered an
alternative vehicle, if we have one available, or a full refund.
2.
If the car breaks down on the day of the wedding, before hire commences, you will be
notified and either be offered an alternative vehicle, if we have one
available, or a full refund.
3. If the car breaks down during the course of the wedding, well
that is a whole new ball game. The chauffeur will make his
preliminary checks to try to resolve the fault, do bear in mind he is
not a mechanic. Should this fail, you will be on your way
soon enough if you have ordered a back-up car. If you have
not, then it will be all hands on deck to get you there one way or
another, by fair means or foul. If this means flagging down a
kind motorist, then so be it. Our goal is to
get you there. Due to time constraints and distances involved, it will impossible to organise a substitute vehicle and chauffeur. Your chauffeur will as distressed (if
not more) as you. The chances are, you will be late.
Cars are
machines and so it is inevitable that from time to time (and it is
rare) they do break down. This in no way reflects on our
commitment to maintain all vehicles to the highest standards possible.
Anyone hiring a car, particularly one of our old girls, should have a
modicum of sense regarding this. It must be accepted by the hirer that
booking a vehicle does not guarantee its performance. It does no
good to apportion blame, just understand, that sometimes
it happens and it cannot be foreseen. See it for what it is,
a nuisance, inconvenient, some may even say funny, but it's no
ones fault.
Please be advised that at no time we will enter into organising a taxi company to provide a substitute vehicle as we cannot be responsible for the service they offer, the condition of the vehicle they will provide or the proffesionalism and attire of the driver.

Everything you need to know is contained within this website. It is accepted that when a client books a vehicle, they have familiarised themselves with who we are, what we offer and our Terms and Conditions of booking. We are unable to run through every possible detail with every single client, much of which may not apply to you and much of it you would probably forget. This would be boring for you and very time consuming. You can browse through this website at your own pace and leisure and satisfy yourself before making your booking that we are what you are looking for. You are always welcome to contact us with any questions you may have.
