Bow Field Hire - the largest unique collection of wedding cars in Sussex

1959 Ex-Royal Daimler DK400Back to Our Fleet

This very rare ex-royal limousine was commissioned in 1959 for Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent, mother of Prince Michael of Kent. Only 7 of these superior vehicles were ever built. Today, only 5 remain world-wide.
The body shaping is Empress Line by Hooper. The long sweeping wings produce a flowing style and elegance, sadly now confined to history.
We have been the lucky owners of this little piece of our heritage for a number of years and would like to see this beautiful car working again. To this end, we have taken the decision to undertake a full body, engine and interior refubishment.

Completion will be in time for weddings in 2012. Our 20 years in the wedding transport business has provided us with the experience to know that this car will be in demand. Therefore, we are taking bookings in advance of completion of the restoration with a full, money back guarantee should anyone be dissapointed. Once complete, the car will be available to view for those who have booked in advance and those wishing to book.

When complete the bodywork will be Ivory Parchment over Cherry. The interor woodwork is complete in stunning, flame Walnut. There is also an electric glass division and white-wall tyres.
